That makes it two components in one: a friction surface and the pinion of the drivetrain. The tooth count sets your gearing, so a 14 tooth bell gears the car taller than a 13 tooth, trading some acceleration for more top speed on a track with long straights.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eThe lightweight designation is about rotating mass. The bell spins at engine speed, so every gram removed from it is mass the engine no longer has to accelerate, and taking weight out of a spinning component pays back more than the same weight removed from the chassis. Kyosho vents the one-piece design, which also helps the bell shed the heat that clutch slip generates.
