Depending on where they sit they act as differential internal pins holding the spider gears on their cross, as drive pins in outdrives, and as locating pins in gear assemblies. They carry torque in shear, which means a worn or slightly bent pin does not fail cleanly. Instead it introduces play you feel as a knock under acceleration, and it accelerates wear on the much more expensive parts around it.

Inside a differential in particular, a worn cross pin lets the spider gears wobble on their axis, which chews the gear faces and eventually destroys the diff. Replacing pins during a diff rebuild is cheap insurance.

This part number supersedes the older Kyosho part IF39, so legacy IF39 listings are the same item. Kyosho lists it across roughly seventy kits including the Inferno NEO and NEO 2.0, Inferno VE, the ST-RR and ST-RR Evo. truggies, Inferno MP777 and MP-7.5, the Mad Force and Mad Force Kruiser, Giga Crusher and Inferno GT and GT2 VE. Ten pins are supplied.

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0567/0554/8376/files/6d5sd56sd56sds6_1_5cf7d5ce-cb31-41e9-8573-21201ec3ce4f.jpg?v=1786242397
