It is a precision part in a demanding position: it spins at full engine speed, it carries the clutch bell's radial load, and it takes the axial clamping force of the whole clutch assembly.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eWear shows up as bell wobble. Once the shaft is worn where the bearings ride, the clutch bell no longer runs true, which throws off gear mesh with the spur and makes the clutch engage unevenly. That produces a car that is hard to drive smoothly out of corners and destroys spur gears faster than it should.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eKyosho notes this shaft works with both their torsion bar spring type clutches and the standard type, so it covers either setup. This is the B revision, superseding the original IF208.
