It sets how much of the shock stroke you have available in compression versus droop, it changes the roll centre and therefore how the car leans, and it determines your ground clearance over ruts and jump faces. Getting it right on both ends, and identical side to side, is fundamental, and doing it by eye or with a ruler is not accurate enough to be repeatable.

This is a stepped block gauge. You slide it under the chassis and read which step the car sits at, which makes checking ride height a few-second job between heats rather than a measuring exercise. European dealers list the steps as 24, 26, 28 and 30mm, covering the normal 1/8 buggy range.

This is a pit tool rather than a vehicle part. Kyosho lists it across the Inferno MP10, MP10 TKI2 and TKI3, MP10T, MP10e, MP9 TKI4 V2, MP9e Evo. V2 and the NEO 3.0 range. Note Kyosho has since revised it as IFW446B.

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0567/0554/8376/files/kyoifw446_d6d651f3-1be1-4b35-bbb6-a13164e50523.jpg?v=1786242341
