In the center of a four-wheel-drive chassis, where the shaft runs at full drivetrain speed and takes the whole torque load, that difference shows up as smoother power delivery and noticeably less vibration through the chassis at speed.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eThe shaft itself is the wearing part of the assembly. The joint ends take constant articulation under load, and once play develops you get a knock on throttle transitions and accelerating wear on the diff outdrives either side of it.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eThis is the genuine Kyosho replacement at the correct 102mm length, so driveline geometry is unchanged. Kyosho classifies it as an option part for the DRX and lists it across essentially the entire DRX rally range including the Subaru Impreza WRC, Lancia Stratos, Lancer Evolution VII, Ford Fiesta S2000 and Demon, plus the DRX VE variants and the DBX VE 2.0.
