LIONEL 3376 BRONX ZOO CAR, 60-66, 69 VARIATION (B) GREEN, YELLOW LETTERING
The Operating Bronx Zoo Car No. 3376 was available from 1960 until 1966 and was issued again in the last year of post-war production: 1969. The giraffe would lower its head to clear the tell-tale (Part No. 3424-100) that was attached to the track. Came with two AAR trucks that had both operating couplers through production until 1963 when one of the couplers was changed to the solid non-operating type. |
Variation A: BLUE car with WHITE lettering and a BROWN spotted giraffe. |
Variation C: GREEN car with YELLOW lettering and can have either a BROWN spotted or solid YELLOW giraffe. This version came in an ORANGE picture box numbered 3376-160 (1962-63).
Variation D: BLUE car, with YELLOW lettering. Has AAR trucks with operating couplers and was contained within a Hagerstown checkerboard box numbered 3376. Originally, it contained one telltale that came in an envelope numbered 3376-18. This variation is hard to find. 1967 Production.
Variation E: GREEN car, with YELLOW lettering, late AAR trucks, and a BROWN spotted giraffe. Came in a perforated box No. 3376-160 with parts envelope No. 3376-119 |
