LIONEL 6802 FLAT CAR WITH 2 US STEEL GIRDERS 58-59
LIONEL 6802 FLAT CAR WITH 2 US STEEL GIRDERS 58-59
Girder Bridge Flat Car No. 6802 was produced in 1958 and 1959 on a RED chassis with WHITE heat-stamped lettering. The number is located to the left of the "LIONEL" inscription on the car sides. This is the normal position of the number for cars equipped with AAR trucks. Came with two operating disc couplers.
Came with two BLACK plastic girders labeled "U.S. STEEL" with the embossed number on the right side: "6418." Sometimes this number is found painted WHITE. Many times this car is often found with the wrong bridge. The bridge is held in place by a No. 6418-9 elastic tie. There are two variations:
Variation A: Uses a 6424-11 chassis flat car mold.
Variation B: Uses a 6511-2 chassis flat car mold.
