Busch 1503 HO Scale Mennwangen Half-Timber Farmhouse Kit

Recreate a piece of rural history on your HO layout with the Busch 1503 small farmhouse from Mennwangen, a partially pre-colored laser-cut wood kit. The model depicts a so-called "Seldnerhaus," or cottager's house, based on a prototype from the Baden-Wurttemberg village of Mennwangen. Ranked below the farmers in the village hierarchy, cottagers earned their living from leased farmland and were reliant on additional wage labor, so their buildings were simple and functional. This two-story home has been reconstructed and can be visited at the Neuhausen Open-Air Museum.

On the Busch 1503 model, the barn of the two-part building is executed in real wood just like the original, and the half-timbering of the attached living area, with its delicate windows and wooden staircase, comes ready-finished in wood-tone stain. The kit is prepared for interior lighting using base 4280 and uses a sturdy plug-together substructure clad with pre-cut, colored wood parts for easy assembly; you will also need a hobby knife and model glue such as Busch 7599. Item 1503 measures about 6 x 4-13/16 x 4-5/16 in. (15.3 x 12.2 x 10.9 cm, height 109 mm).
