Busch 1550 HO Scale Brick Ring Kiln with Smokestack Kit

Model a classic piece of industrial heritage with the Busch 1550 Brick Ring Kiln, an HO scale (1:87) kit depicting a Hoffmann-type ring kiln from the Erbs brickworks. As on the prototype, the brick-built kiln is faithfully rendered with the side access openings that lead into the interior firing chambers. The main structure is crafted from real wood, while filigree details such as the staircase, gutters, and downpipes are molded in plastic. Item 1550 even captures the imposing chimney, which today, after production ended, serves as a nesting home for storks.

The Busch 1550 kiln measures 197 x 105 mm with a height of 73 mm, and the towering smokestack rises to 213 mm; overall the model spans 7-3/4 x 4-1/8 x 8-3/8 in. (19.7 x 10.5 x 21.3 cm). A stable plug-together substructure is clad with the pre-cut, pre-colored parts, making assembly of item 1550 especially straightforward. All you need in addition is a hobby knife and plastic-model cement (such as Busch 7599) or an all-purpose adhesive.
