Busch 5962 IR Infrared Light Barrier Switch Unit, All Scale

The Busch 5962 is a standard infrared (IR) light barrier consisting of a matched IR transmitter and IR receiver, each measuring 11/16 x 3/8 x 13/16 in. (18 x 9 x 20 mm). The transmitter emits an invisible infrared beam and the receiver registers it; when the beam is interrupted the receiver signals the event, providing contactless, highly reliable triggering with virtually unlimited service life.

Because the light barrier works with very small currents, item 5962 must be used together with Busch control electronics that provide the necessary receiver circuitry, such as time switches 5961/5963, electronic relay 5740, occupancy switch 5743 or control module 5745. Range is up to about 3-15/16 in. (100 mm) with electronic relay 5740 and control module 5745, and up to about 9-13/16 in. (250 mm) with time switches 5961/5963. As an electronic accessory it is suitable for all scales.
