The real-life building can be visited at the Hohenlohe Open-Air Museum in Wackershofen and originally stood in Forchtenberg. Built in 1778, the house was converted around 1830 into a combined "Einhaus" that unites living quarters, stable, and barn under a single roof, giving the model its distinctive, characterful profile.

On the Busch 8789 model, the half-timbering, doors, and windows are made of real wood and come ready to assemble in their finished stained colors, while the infill panels already replicate the color and texture of the original plaster and need no further treatment. The stable door and gates hang on delicate hinges and can be opened, and fine touches such as the slender window frames and relief-effect corner stones stand out. The kit is prepared for interior lighting using base 4280 and features a sturdy plug-together substructure that is clad with the pre-cut, colored parts for easy building; you will also need a hobby knife and model glue such as Busch 7599. The finished building measures about 5-1/8 x 3-1/8 x 2-15/16 in. (13 x 8 x 7.5 cm, height 75 mm).
