A pack of ten M3 x 6mm button head screws with a hex socket drive, from Kyosho's universal hardware range.
A button head has a low, domed profile rather than the taller cylindrical head of a cap screw. That matters where clearance is tight or where a proud screw head would catch on something, and the wider bearing surface spreads clamping load better across a plastic part, which reduces the chance of cracking it.
The hex socket drive is what lets you apply real torque without rounding the head, which a cross-head fastener will do quickly once it has been in and out a few times.
At 6mm this is one of the most commonly used lengths on any chassis, which makes it worth keeping in quantity rather than one pack at a time.
Screws are consumables on a car that gets rebuilt regularly. Heads round out, threads strip, and thread-lock residue builds up until a fastener no longer torques properly. A rebuild that stalls because you are one screw short is a frustrating way to lose an evening.
This supersedes the older Kyosho number 1366.
