Kyosho 96774 5x20x0.2mm Clutch Shim 5pcs

A pack of five shims measuring 5mm inside diameter by 20mm outside by 0.2mm thick, used in clutch and differential assemblies.

The unusually large jump from a 5mm bore to a 20mm outside diameter is what defines this shim. That wide face is what makes it a clutch shim rather than a bearing shim: it spreads load across a broad area and sets the spacing of the clutch components on the shaft, where a narrow shim would simply dig in.

Clutch setup on a nitro car is one of the settings that most directly affects how the car drives off the corner, since it determines how quickly and smoothly power is delivered. Spacing errors here produce a clutch that engages unevenly or drags, and both cost you drive and generate heat.
