Kyosho 97035LW-14 14T Lightweight Clutch Bell

A 14 tooth one-piece lightweight clutch bell for Kyosho's nitro Inferno platform.

The clutch bell is the drum the clutch shoes grip against, and its outer teeth drive the spur gear. That makes it two components in one: a friction surface and the pinion of the drivetrain. The tooth count sets your gearing, so a 14 tooth bell gears the car taller than a 13 tooth, trading some acceleration for more top speed on a track with long straights.

The lightweight designation is about rotating mass. The bell spins at engine speed, so every gram removed from it is mass the engine no longer has to accelerate, and taking weight out of a spinning component pays back more than the same weight removed from the chassis. Kyosho vents the one-piece design, which also helps the bell shed the heat that clutch slip generates. That matters because an overheating bell glazes and grips inconsistently.

This is an option part over the standard bell. Bearings are not included. Fitment covers the Inferno MP9 and its TKI variants, MP10, MP-7.5, MP777, the ST-R and ST-RR truggies and the NEO range.
