Kyosho 97046 Pinion Gear Adapter Set 2pcs

A pair of pinion gear adapters that let a 5mm bore pinion run on a 3.175mm motor shaft.

This is a compatibility part, and it solves a specific and common problem. Large brushless motors used in 1/8 scale cars typically have a 5mm output shaft, and pinions for those motors are bored 5mm to match. Smaller motors and some conversions use a 3.175mm shaft, which is the imperial 1/8 inch size. The adapter is a precision sleeve that fills that difference, letting you fit the 5mm pinion you already have onto the smaller shaft without buying a whole different gear range.

Because it sits in the drivetrain's highest-torque location, fit matters. A sloppy adapter lets the pinion move on the shaft, which throws off your gear mesh and chews the spur gear. These are made to the correct tolerance for a proper interference fit with the grub screw.

Kyosho lists them as spare parts for the DBX VE 2.0 and DRX VE, and dealers extend fitment to the DBX 2 VE and DMT VE. Two adapters are supplied.
