Kyosho IF106 38mm 43T Bevel Gear Inferno

A 43 tooth bevel gear measuring 38mm in diameter, for the front or rear differential on Kyosho's Inferno platform.

This is the large bevel gear inside the diff that the drive bevel meshes against, and together the pair transfer drive from the centre driveline out to that axle. On a 1/8 scale car it is a serious load-bearing component: all the drive to that end of the car passes through the mesh between two bevel teeth at any given moment, and the tooth form has to stay exact for the diff to run quietly and last.

Wear follows a predictable path. The tooth faces polish, then pit, then start to round off, and the diff gets progressively noisier under load until teeth begin to strip. Running a worn gear against a fresh mating gear just destroys the new part, which is why they are normally replaced as a matched pair.

Correct mesh at installation is critical and is set with shims. Too tight and it binds and runs hot; too loose and it strips under power. Fitment covers the Inferno MP-7.5 and MP777, Inferno GT and GT2, Inferno NEO 4.0 and the USA-1 VE.
