Kyosho IF133 Brake Disk Inferno

Brake disks for Kyosho's Inferno nitro platform.

The disk is the surface the brake pads clamp onto, and on a 1/8 scale nitro car it is doing serious work. It has to absorb and shed the heat of hauling a heavy car down from high speed repeatedly, and it does that in a confined space inside the transmission with limited airflow.

Disks wear thinner over time and they also glaze. A glazed disk has a hard polished surface that the pads slide across rather than grip, and the symptom is brakes that feel present but simply will not stop the car. That is easy to misread as a linkage adjustment problem, and drivers often chase it through the servo and the cam before checking the disk itself.

Replacing disks and pads together is the sensible approach, because fresh pads bedding onto a worn disk never develop an even contact surface.

Two are supplied. Kyosho lists this across the Inferno NEO 3.0, GT2 Race Spec and MP9 TKI4 V2, with dealers adding the earlier MP-7.5, MP777, Inferno GT and DBX 2.0.
