This is the front hub carrier for Kyosho's Inferno platform.
The hub carrier connects the front suspension arms to the steering knuckle, and it is where caster is set on the car. Caster is the fore and aft lean of the steering axis, and it has a large influence on how the buggy behaves. More caster gives stronger straight-line stability and builds steering as the car rolls into a corner; less caster gives quicker initial turn-in but a car that feels twitchier and less settled at speed.
Structurally it takes everything the front wheel receives. Impacts with pipes, kerbs and ruts load it directly, and a cracked carrier changes caster on that side only, so the car pulls and turns differently left versus right without anything looking obviously wrong.
This is the genuine Kyosho part with factory geometry, so fitting it returns the front end to its designed setup rather than approximating it. It originated on the Inferno MP-7.5 and MP-777, and Kyosho still lists it for the Inferno NEO 3.0, NEO ST 3.0 and NEO 4.0, Inferno GT2 Race Spec and GT2 VE Race Spec, and the Psycho Kruiser VE 2.0.
