This is the front wheel shaft for Kyosho's Inferno GT and MP-7.5 era platforms, the axle that runs through the front hub and carries the wheel.
The front wheel shaft supports the entire cornering, braking and landing load of that corner of the car. On a 1/8 scale machine with heavy wheels and tires those loads are substantial, and the shaft has to carry them while running true enough that the hub bearings are not being loaded off-axis.
Damage shows up as vibration. A bent shaft makes the wheel run out of true, which you feel through the car at speed and which destroys the hub bearings quickly. It is worth rolling a shaft across a flat surface to check it after any heavy front-end impact, since a slight bend is not obvious by eye and the symptom is easy to blame on wheel balance or a damaged tire.
This is the genuine Kyosho part at original dimensions, so it works with the standard bearings and wheel nuts without shimming. Kyosho lists it as a standard part for the Inferno GT and in the MP-7.5 and MP777 parts range, with dealers extending it to the GT2 and GT2 VE.
