Kyosho IF207 Brake Pad Set Inferno US Sports

This is the brake set for Kyosho's Inferno US Sports and related platforms.

Brake pads are the friction material that clamps onto the disk to slow the car, and on a 1/8 scale nitro machine they are working hard. They absorb the energy of hauling a heavy car down from speed repeatedly, in a confined space inside the transmission with limited airflow to shed the heat.

They wear thin and they also glaze. A glazed pad has a hard polished face that slides across the disk rather than gripping it, and the symptom is brakes that feel present at the lever but simply will not stop the car. That is easy to misdiagnose as a linkage problem, and people often chase it through the servo and brake cam before checking the pads.

Fitting pads and disks together is the sensible approach, since fresh pads bedding onto a worn disk never develop an even contact surface. Dealers describe this set as including both disks and pads. Kyosho names it for the Inferno US Sports, with dealers extending it to the Inferno GT and GT2 and the NEO 2.0 and 3.0.
