A set of four steel shock bushings for Kyosho's Big Bore shocks.
The bushing sits in the shock eyelet, at the point where the shock bolts to the suspension arm or the shock tower, and it is the surface the mounting screw pivots against. It carries the entire load path of the shock in a very small contact area, which is why it is one of the first things to wear on a hard-run 1/8 scale car.
Steel is the reason to fit these. A worn or ovalized bushing lets the shock move in its mount, and that movement is lost damping: the shock rocks in the eyelet instead of compressing, so the first fraction of every input does nothing. It also makes a knocking noise that most people chase around the suspension before finding it. Steel resists that wear far better than plastic under the shock loading of 1/8 scale landings.
Kyosho lists these across the Inferno NEO 3.0 and 4.0 VE, MP9 TKI4 V2, MP9e Evo. V2, MP10, MP10 TKI2 and TKI3, MP10T, MP10e and Psycho Kruiser VE 2.0. Four bushings are supplied.
