Kyosho IF349-01 47mm Big Bore Shock Case 2pcs

A pair of 47mm Big Bore shock cases for Kyosho's 1/8 scale front shocks.

The case is the body of the shock, the cylinder the piston travels through. Its internal bore finish is what the piston seals against, so it is a precision part rather than a simple housing. Any scoring on that bore, whether from a bent shaft, a piece of grit that got past the seals, or simple wear over many rebuilds, means the shock will never hold oil properly again no matter how many fresh seals you fit. It is the part most people replace last and should often replace first.

Cases also get dented and crushed in impacts, and a case that is even slightly out of round will bind the piston and give you damping that changes through the stroke.

At 47mm this is the short case used at the front of the car. Two are supplied, which is one axle's worth. This is the smooth non-threaded version, so preload is set with clips rather than a collar. Kyosho lists it for the Inferno MP9 and MP9e, and dealers confirm it also covers the MP777 front shocks.
