A pair of 70mm Big Bore shock springs for Kyosho's 1/8 scale range, wound with 1.4mm wire over seven turns.

Kyosho's part numbering here is worth understanding: the suffix encodes seven turns and 1.4mm wire, and the light blue finish is the rate code so you can identify a spring at a glance in the pit box.

The 1.4mm wire is the significant detail. Kyosho's earlier Big Bore springs used 1.6mm wire, and dropping to 1.4mm with a lower turn count produces a lighter spring at a softer rate. Softer springs let the chassis roll more, which builds mechanical traction and helps the suspension follow rough and broken surfaces instead of skipping over them. The trade-off is that they bottom out more readily on big landings, so they suit technical bumpy tracks better than smooth high-speed layouts with large jump faces.

These are the short front springs and Kyosho sells them as an optional tuning part rather than a stock replacement. Two are supplied, enough for both front shocks. Fitment spans the Inferno MP9 and MP10 buggy families, MP9e and MP10e, Inferno NEO, and the Mad Force and FO-XX monster trucks.
