A pair of 6.8mm flanged pivot balls in Kyosho's hard specification.

These are the balls that a linkage ball end snaps onto, used at suspension and steering pivot points across the Inferno range. The flange is what sets the standoff between the ball and the part it threads into, which means the ball position is also a geometry setting rather than just a fastener.

The hard specification is the reason to choose these. A pivot ball is a small sphere carrying a lot of load through a very small contact patch, and on a standard ball that surface eventually galls and flat-spots. Once it does, the ball end can no longer grip it evenly, the joint develops play, and you get inconsistent camber and toe under load. A harder ball resists that wear substantially longer, which matters most on the front end where the loads are highest and the geometry is most sensitive.

Kyosho lists these across the Inferno MP9, MP9 TKI through TKI4, MP9e and MP9e Evo., and Inferno GT3. Two are supplied. This part is the current successor to the discontinued IF313, which came four to a pack rather than two.
