Kyosho IF471-01 47mm Threaded Big Shock Case 2pcs

A pair of 47mm threaded Big Bore shock cases for Kyosho's 1/8 scale front shocks.

The threaded body is the meaningful feature here. On a plain case, spring preload is set with clips, which means it comes in fixed increments and changing it requires pulling the spring off. A threaded case takes an adjusting collar that screws up and down the body, so you can set preload and ride height continuously and precisely, and adjust it trackside in seconds without disassembling anything. On a car where ride height is a real tuning variable between heats, that is a significant practical advantage.

The case is also a precision part in its own right. Its internal bore is what the piston and seals work against, and any scoring from a bent shaft or trapped grit means the shock will never hold oil properly again regardless of how many fresh seals you fit.

At 47mm this is the medium-short case used at the front. Two are supplied, one axle's worth. Kyosho lists it across the Inferno MP9, MP9 TKI2 through TKI4, MP9e TKI and TKI4, and MP9e Evo.
