This is the flywheel nut for Kyosho's three-shoe clutch system on the Inferno MP9 and MP10.
The flywheel nut clamps the entire clutch assembly onto the engine crankshaft. That is a demanding job: it has to hold the flywheel, shoes and bell in place against the full torque of the engine and the vibration that comes with it, and it does so on a taper that relies on correct clamping force to transmit drive without slipping.
It is also a part that gets removed and refitted every time the clutch is serviced, which is often on a raced car. Threads wear, and the flats round off if you have ever had to fight one that was seized. A nut that will no longer torque properly is a genuine risk, because a clutch that works loose on the crank destroys the taper on the crankshaft itself, which is a far more expensive repair.
Note that the 3PC in Kyosho's naming refers to the three-shoe clutch type this nut is designed for, not a pack quantity. It pairs with the IF432 32mm three-shoe flywheel.
