Kyosho IF479 Receiver Box Set Inferno MP9 TKI3

This is the receiver box set for the Kyosho Inferno MP9 TKI3.

The receiver box is a sealed enclosure that houses the radio receiver and keeps water, fuel residue and dirt away from it. On a nitro off-road car that protection is not optional. The receiver sits in the middle of a chassis that throws up dirt constantly, gets sprayed with oily exhaust residue, and regularly ends up in mud or standing water.

Water is the obvious risk, but dust and fuel matter just as much over time. Fine grit works into connectors and causes intermittent faults that come and go with vibration rather than failing outright, which makes them genuinely difficult to diagnose. Nitro fuel residue creeps into everything and attacks plastics.

Because the box has to seal to do its job, a cracked lid or a distorted body is worth replacing rather than taping over. Supplied as a complete set, so it rebuilds the enclosure rather than patching one piece.

Kyosho lists this specifically for the MP9 TKI3. The TKI4 and later cars use a revised box under a separate part number, so confirm which car you have.
