Kyosho IF508 2mm Battery Cushion Inferno VE

This is the 2mm battery cushion used in Kyosho's electric Inferno chassis.

A LiPo pack sitting in a hard plastic tray is a problem waiting to happen. Every landing and every hard impact drives the pack against the tray floor and against its hold-downs, and repeated compression on a soft-case pack damages cells, while the constant vibration works the pack loose in its cradle. A loose battery is worse still, because a pack shifting under braking and cornering moves a significant chunk of the car's mass around and makes the handling inconsistent from corner to corner.

The cushion solves both. It absorbs impact loading before it reaches the cells and it takes up the small dimensional differences between battery brands so the pack sits tight in the tray without being over-clamped.

At 2mm this is the thinner of Kyosho's two cushions, for packs that already fit the tray closely. A 5mm version is available for looser fits. Kyosho lists this part for the Inferno GT2 VE Race Spec, Inferno NEO 3.0 VE, Psycho Kruiser VE 2.0 and the IFW451 brushless conversion kit.
