A set of three aluminum clutch shoes for Kyosho's three-shoe nitro clutch.
The shoes are the components that fly outward under centrifugal force as engine speed rises and grip the inside of the clutch bell to transmit drive. They are working against friction every time the clutch engages, which makes them a genuine consumable rather than a fit-and-forget part.
Kyosho describes these as an enhanced type suited to high power engines, and that is the point of the aluminum construction. A shoe has to resist the heat generated by slipping and hold its shape under the loads a modern .21 engine produces. When shoes wear down far enough, the clutch bell can start contacting the springs, which destroys both quickly, so checking them during a rebuild is worth doing.
Fresh shoes restore crisp, predictable engagement. Worn ones grab and release unpredictably, which makes the car hard to drive smoothly out of corners because you cannot anticipate when drive will arrive.
Three are supplied, a complete set, and dealers note shims are included. Kyosho lists them across the Inferno MP10 range, MP10T, Inferno NEO 3.0 and 4.0, GT2 Race Spec and MP9 TKI4.
