A pair of 53mm front shock shafts, 3.5mm in diameter, for Kyosho's Inferno shocks.
The shaft is the polished rod that runs through the shock seals and carries the piston. It is one of the highest-precision parts on the car, because the O-rings ride directly on its surface, and any nick, scratch or bend destroys the seal immediately. A damaged shaft is the single most common reason a shock keeps leaking no matter how many times it is rebuilt, and it is worth rolling any shaft you plan to reuse across a flat surface to check it.
Shafts bend in the crashes that load the suspension sideways rather than vertically, and even a slight bend makes the shaft bind in the seals. That shows up as a shock that does not extend smoothly under its own spring pressure, which means the suspension is not following the ground properly.
Length is the only thing distinguishing this from its siblings, so check before ordering: 53mm is the front shaft, and the rear position takes a longer one under a different part number. Kyosho lists fitment across the Inferno MP9, MP9e, MP10, MP10e, MP-7.5 and MP777.
