This is the 61mm shock shaft for Kyosho's IFW141 rear oil shock set, 3.5mm in diameter.
The shaft is the polished rod that runs through the shock seals and carries the piston. It is one of the highest-precision parts on the car, because the O-rings ride directly on its surface, and any nick, scratch or bend destroys the seal immediately. A damaged shaft is the single most common reason a shock keeps leaking no matter how many times it is rebuilt, and it is worth rolling any shaft you plan to reuse across a flat surface to check it.
Shafts bend in the crashes that load the suspension sideways rather than vertically, and even a slight bend makes the shaft bind in its seals. That shows up as a shock that will not extend smoothly under its own spring pressure, which means the suspension is no longer following the ground properly.
Length is the only thing distinguishing this from its siblings, so check before ordering: 61mm is the rear shaft, while the front set takes a 63mm shaft under a different number. They are not interchangeable. Fitment covers the Inferno VE, Inferno US Sports 2 and MP7.5 Sports 4.
