Special specification shock pistons for Kyosho's Big Bore dampers, drilled with eight holes of 1.2mm diameter, supplied two to a pack.

The SP designation means the holes are drilled at an angle rather than straight through. That gives the piston a progressive, speed-sensitive character: at the low shaft speeds of ordinary driving the angled passages pass oil readily and the suspension stays supple over small bumps and chatter, while at high shaft speeds the angled path restricts flow more and the damping firms up. Kyosho describes it as a damper that operates suppley in normal driving and hardens on landing from a jump.

A conventional straight-drilled piston gives you one characteristic across the whole range, which forces a compromise between soaking up rough ground and controlling big landings. The angled design reduces that compromise.

At 1.2mm the holes are smaller than the 1.3mm and 1.4mm versions, so this is the most restrictive and firmest of the eight-hole SP range. Fitment covers the Inferno MP9 and MP9e families, MP9 TKI2 through TKI4, Inferno NEO and NEO 3.0, Inferno GT3 and the ST-RR Evo. truggies.
