Kyosho IFW437-15 Front Knuckle Setting Weight 15g

A pair of 15 gram setting weights that mount to the front steering knuckles on Kyosho's Inferno MP9 and MP10.

Weight at the front knuckle sits directly above the front contact patches, so it increases the static load on the front tires. Load is what generates grip, and the practical result is more steering, particularly on corner entry and through the middle where a 1/8 buggy often lacks front bite. Kyosho states the purpose plainly: the weights attach to the front knuckle to increase tire load and alter steering response.

At 15 grams each this is the heaviest step Kyosho offers, adding 30 grams across the front axle. That is a large change, and it is what you fit when the car understeers badly on a dry, dusty or blown-out surface and the smaller weights have not been enough. Because it loads one end only, it shifts front-to-rear balance rather than simply making the car heavier.

The trade-offs scale with the weight: more unsprung mass for the front suspension to control over bumps, and slower direction changes. Five and ten gram versions are available for smaller adjustments. Two weights are supplied.
