Kyosho IFW438-10 Rear Hub Carrier Setting Weight 10g

A pair of 10 gram setting weights that mount to the rear hub carriers on Kyosho's Inferno MP9 and MP10.

Weight added this far outboard does something specific. Sitting directly above the rear contact patches, it raises the static load on the rear tires, which builds rear traction and makes the car more stable under power. It also increases the polar moment at the rear, slowing how quickly the car rotates and making it feel more planted through fast direction changes.

That makes it a real setup tool rather than ballast. On a low-grip or dusty track where the rear end is spinning up out of corners, outboard rear weight is often more effective than changing springs or diff oil, and it works without disturbing anything else on the car. The cost is added unsprung mass for the suspension to control over bumps, and more total weight.

At 10 grams each this is the middle of Kyosho's three steps, so it is a meaningful change rather than a fine adjustment. Five and fifteen gram versions are available separately. Two weights are supplied, one per side.
