A pack of twelve 5.8mm ball ends in Kyosho's hard specification.
Ball ends are the cups that snap over a pivot ball to form a suspension or steering linkage joint. They are wear items and they matter more than their price suggests. A fresh ball end grips the ball with a firm, consistent snap so the linkage pivots smoothly with no free play. As the cup wears, the joint develops slop, and that slop shows up at the wheel as vague steering, camber and toe that shift under load, and a car that will not hold the same setup from one run to the next. A badly worn end can also pop off the ball mid-corner, which usually ends the heat.
The hard specification is the reason to choose these. A harder compound resists the wear that opens up a standard ball end, so the joint stays tight for longer, which is what you want on a car being raced rather than cruised.
Twelve are supplied, enough to do a full set of links with spares. Kyosho lists them across the Fazer Mk2 FZ02 range, the FO-XX and USA-1 monster trucks, V-One R4s II, Sand Master and AXXE 2.0.
