Kyosho SC212 Gear Box Mount Scorpion 2014

Kyosho SC212 is the gearbox mount for the Scorpion 2014. It is the plate that holds the transmission case to the chassis, so it carries the reaction load from every bit of drive the motor puts down.

A cracked or distorted mount lets the gearbox shift under power, which pulls the spur and pinion out of proper mesh. The symptom is gear noise that comes and goes, and eventually stripped teeth on parts that cost a good deal more than the mount does.

Fitting a fresh mount is worth doing any time you have the transmission out for other work. Kyosho lists it for the Scorpion 2014 and Tomahawk. A revised SC212B and a carbon SCW008 upgrade both exist if you want the stronger option.
