Kyosho SIL0500-8 Silicone Shock Oil #500 80cc

Kyosho SIL0500-8 is a #500 weight silicone shock oil in an 80cc bottle. Shock oil is what actually creates damping — the piston has to push the fluid through its holes, and how hard that is determines how quickly the suspension compresses and rebounds.

#500 sits in the firmer half of Kyosho's range. Heavier oil slows the shock down, which helps a car settle on big landings and stops it packing down over successive bumps, but go too heavy and the suspension stops following the ground properly. Most people run one weight front and a different one rear, and change both as track conditions change through a day.

The 80cc bottle is the larger of Kyosho's two sizes — the 30cc bottles suit weights you rarely touch, this one suits the weights you actually run.
