Kyosho SX005 Shock Spring Set Scorpion XXL

A set of four shock springs for the Kyosho Scorpion XXL, covering the whole car.

Springs are the most fundamental suspension setting on any vehicle. They carry the weight and determine how far the chassis moves for a given force, which sets ride height, how much the car dives under braking and rolls in a corner, and how much travel remains before the suspension bottoms out. On a 1/7 scale buggy those forces are large, because the car itself is heavy.

They are also a wear item in a way people underestimate. A spring repeatedly compressed to its limit takes a permanent set, losing free length and rate. When that happens the car sits lower than it should, runs out of travel sooner, and behaves differently side to side if one has sagged more than another. The change is gradual, which makes it easy to miss and easy to misdiagnose as a damping problem.

Fitting a fresh set returns the car to its factory baseline, which is the right starting point before chasing any handling issue. Four are supplied.
