Kyosho TF004 Carbon Rear Shock Stay TF-5

This is the carbon rear shock stay for the Kyosho TF-5 touring car.

The shock stay is the tower the upper ends of both rear shocks bolt to, so it anchors the entire rear damping system. Its rigidity has a direct effect on how the shocks behave: a stay that flexes absorbs part of every damping input before it reaches the chassis, and worse, it can let the two shocks work at slightly different rates side to side, which makes the car feel inconsistent through left and right corners.

Carbon is why this one is stiff. On a touring car, where the whole point is precision and repeatability, removing that flex means your damping and shock position changes actually produce what you expect rather than being partly absorbed by the mounting.

It also sets the upper shock mounting positions, which is the adjustment you use to change how much the rear rolls and how quickly the car responds.

Kyosho lists it as a standard part for the TF-5. Note the matching front stay carries a Kyosho warning that it cannot be used on the TF-5S, so check your chassis version.
