Kyosho UM564-80 48 Pitch 80T Spur Gear

This is an 80 tooth spur gear in 48 pitch for Kyosho's Ultima range.

The spur gear works with the pinion on the motor to set the final drive ratio, which is the main lever you have for matching the car to the track and to your motor. A larger spur, or a smaller pinion, gears the car down. That improves acceleration out of tight corners and reduces motor and ESC temperatures, which is useful on technical low-speed layouts or with a low-turn motor that runs hot. Gearing up does the reverse, trading punch for top speed on long straights.

At 80 teeth this sits mid-range in Kyosho's 48 pitch selection, so it works well as a baseline you can tune around by changing pinions rather than swapping spurs every run. 48 pitch is the standard for 1/10 scale electric racing and gives a good balance of tooth strength and quiet running.

This is a direct replacement for the kit spur gear and mounts to the standard slipper or spur hub without modification. Always check your mesh after fitting a new spur.
