These parts clamp the battery pack against the chassis so it cannot shift under acceleration, braking, or impact. On a 2WD buggy the battery is one of the heaviest single items on the car, so anything that lets it move changes weight distribution mid-corner and makes handling unpredictable in a way that is genuinely hard to diagnose from the driver's stand.
