Kyosho VZT001S 24mm Radial Tire Soft 2pcs

A pair of 24mm semi-slick radial tires in the soft compound, for Kyosho's 1/10 touring car platforms.

Tire compound is the single biggest performance variable on an on-road car, ahead of any suspension setting. A soft compound generates more grip than a medium, particularly on cooler days and on lower-grip surfaces where a harder tire never reaches its working temperature. The cost is wear: a soft tire gives its best over fewer runs and goes off noticeably once it has been heat cycled repeatedly.

The semi-slick tread pattern sits between a full slick and a treaded tire, giving most of the dry grip of a slick while retaining enough pattern to cope with dust or a slightly damp surface.

Compound choice is also a balance tool rather than just a grip question. Running soft at one end and medium at the other shifts where the car finds grip first, which is a legitimate way to cure understeer or a loose rear.

Kyosho lists these as an option tire for the V-One S range and the FW-05, with dealers extending to the TF-5 and TF-5 Stallion. Two are supplied.
