A set of eight HC shock diaphragms for Kyosho's oil-filled shocks.
The diaphragm is the flexible bladder that sits under the shock cap. Because oil cannot compress, something has to give as the shock shaft pushes into the body and displaces volume, and the diaphragm is that something. It flexes to absorb the displaced oil while keeping the shock sealed and, critically, keeping air out of the oil. When a diaphragm hardens, tears or takes a set, the shock either goes over-pressurised and forces the shaft back out, or draws air in and foams the oil, and a foamed shock loses damping progressively through a run without ever obviously failing.
That makes diaphragms one of the parts most worth replacing as a matter of routine rather than waiting for symptoms. Rebuilding all four shocks with fresh diaphragms is the fastest way to get consistent damping back.
Kyosho classifies these as an option part and lists them across the V-One RRR, V-One R4 and V-One SIII nitro touring cars, the Evolva M3, and the EP Fazer VE and VE-X range. Eight are supplied, enough for two complete rebuilds.
