LIONEL 625 LV GE 44-TON SWITCHER, 57-58

The Lionel Lehigh Valley No. 625 Switcher was available in 1957 and 1958 that has a BLACK sheet-metal frame, with a RED plastic body and painted BLACK hi-lights, and WHITE stripe at the bottom. The railroad herald, and lettering is done in WHITE by a heat-stamp. There is an ornamental horn and bell on top of the body.

This diesel has a Type IID motor, one axle Magnetraction, solid non-operating couplers, and a three position directional unit that was adjustable from underneath the chassis. There are no variations.

All of the Lionel GE 44-Ton units are designed to work on the tighter radius of O27 Gauge track, but they will run equally well on O Gauge track.
