Piko 35228 G Scale R3 Left Manual Switch, 22.5 Degrees

The Piko 35228 is a G Scale left-hand manual switch built on the tighter R3 geometry, turning through 22.5 degrees with a diverging radius of 920mm (36.2 inches) and a diameter of 1840mm (72.4 inches). Its built-in light spring mechanism holds the point rails in position while still allowing a train to pass through against the points without derailing, so you do not need a separate machine or manual throw to run it. Hidden jumper wires keep the electrical path reliable for years of use.

Constructed to the Piko G-Track standard, the 35228 uses 100 percent virgin brass rail in Code 332 (0.332 inch high) solid profile with ultraviolet-stabilized HDPE ties. Each 35228 switch fills the space of one G280 plus one G140 straight (280mm plus 140mm) together with a short R5 curve, making tight yards and passing loops easy to plan. Add a Piko 35271 switch machine and a controller when you want to convert the 35228 to remote operation, and rely on the factory-formed push-together joiners for a snug fit with most other brands of G scale track.
