The Team Associated ASC21807 servo saver set is the steering servo saver assembly for the SR27. The servo saver sits between the steering servo and the steering linkage and uses a sprung mechanism to absorb impacts sent back through the front wheels. Without it, a hard hit on a front wheel would be transferred straight into the servo gears, which is one of the most common ways a steering servo is destroyed.
This set fits the SR27 and mounts to the standard servo and steering linkage using the kit hardware, so it drops in as a direct replacement for the servo saver supplied in the kit.
Servo savers wear over time, and a slack or damaged unit introduces play that shows up as imprecise steering and a car that will not hold a line. Replacing a worn saver restores steering accuracy and protects the servo behind it. Set the spring tension firm enough for precise steering while still allowing the saver to give under a genuine impact.
