Traxxas 6893-ORNG Orange Aluminum Bearing Adapter

The Traxxas 6893-ORNG is an aluminum bearing adapter that upgrades the slipper shaft, machined from tough 6160-T6 aluminum. It includes a 10x15x4 mm black-seal bearing.

The bearing adapter sits on the slipper shaft and carries the bearing that the slipper clutch assembly rotates on. It runs constantly under drivetrain load, and in a high-power setup it also runs hot: the slipper clutch generates heat by design every time it slips, and that heat has to go somewhere.

That is what makes aluminum the right material here. It tolerates a wide heat range and keeps its dimensions where a composite part would soften and distort, so the bearing stays properly supported and the slipper keeps working as intended. Traxxas describes it as perfect for high-power applications and designed to keep you on the throttle longer.

The included black-seal bearing is worth noting. Sealed bearings keep dirt and moisture out of the races, which matters on a rally car running loose and wet surfaces where an open bearing fills with grit quickly.

An upgrade over the standard adapter rather than a like-for-like replacement, and a sensible one for anyone running brushless power.
