Based on prototypes introduced in the 1940s as railroads shifted from steam to diesel, these facilities first appeared on servicing leads near roundhouses and are still found today at terminals and at crew-change and inspection points out on the road.

The 933-2908 includes everything to complete a two-track fueling facility: a storage tank, fuel crane, water crane, pump house and top unloading rack for emptying tank cars, plus environmental track pans to catch fuel and oil spills for modern-era scenes. Plastic parts are molded in appropriate colors so no painting is needed, and easy-to-follow illustrated instructions make assembly fast for first-time and seasoned modelers alike. The storage tank measures 5 x 2-3/4" 12.5 x 6.8cm and the platform 11 x 7" 27.5 x 17.5cm.
