Walthers Cornerstone 933-2922 HO Wood Coaling Tower Kit

Fuel your steam power with the Walthers Cornerstone 933-2922 Wood Coaling Tower, based on a typical two-track design that made a focal point in any engine terminal. Towers like this stood in yards at servicing facilities as well as along mainlines and branchlines to refuel engines on the road, and they could linger into the late-steam or early-diesel era as reminders of how things used to be.

This easy-to-build plastic 933-2922 features a realistic coal bunker plus detailed chutes and mechanisms, with a hopper unloading shed along one side for receiving coal. Like the prototype it serves two tracks at once, maximizing service in minimum space. Place it near a roundhouse or engine shed, turntable, water tank and sand tower for a complete servicing facility. Decal signs are included and it is molded in appropriate colors. Servicing track centers are 2-1/2" 6.4cm, and the hoist track sits 3-1/2" 8.9cm from the centerline of the track under the tower; overall it measures 7-1/2 x 6-1/2 x 10-5/8" 19.1 x 16.5 x 27cm.
