Walthers Cornerstone 933-3071 HO Interlocking Tower Kit

The Walthers Cornerstone 933-3071 HO Scale Interlocking Tower kit models one of the most important buildings found alongside any railroad. Interlocking towers controlled the signals and switches at sidings, junctions, drawbridges, yards, and station terminals, and they served from the early 1900s until computers took over in the 1980s. A structure like this makes a great anchor for a trackside scene, and several can be placed along a line to capture the family look common to railroad architecture.

This easy-to-build kit assembles into the tower reproduced on the 933-3071, complete with an exterior stairway and simulated rods for the control system. Plastic parts are molded in color and detailed to simulate wood construction, with realistic wood siding and a shingled roof, plus clear window glazing. Decal signs and complete instructions are included. The finished structure measures 5 x 1-7/8 x 4" (12.7 x 4.8 x 10.2cm), and the interlocking rods on the 933-3071 measure 5-5/8" (14.2cm) long.
